  3. Hey, I had to do this for one of our domains so I thought I'd share since this will become a bigger problem due to new domains NEEDING a key now. Why do I need an API key for Google Maps? It worked perfectly before! If your domain did not use the Google Maps API before June 22nd, 2016, it wasn't grandfathered into the new system and thus needs to use an API key for verification. I read up on it here - it's where you can see how to get an API key. UPDATE: You can use the official update now. Just make sure you're entering the referrers correctly in the API page - keep in mind that you need to authorize www and non-www URLs/domains! To keep it short, instead of adding script tags elsewhere I just patched the module to allow entering an API key in the administrative section. It's actually rather easy to do, you need to modify two files: mod_bt_googlemaps.xml helper.php They're both in: /modules/mod_bt_googlemaps In mod_bt_googlemaps.xml, look for the line with <fieldset name="basic"> in it, then after that add: <field name="apikey" type="text" label="API Key" description="Google API key"> </field> This will add a new field in the admin where you can add your Google API key. In helper.php, change the 28th line from: $mapApi= '//'.$language->getTag(); to: $mapApi= '//'.$language->getTag().'&key='.$params->get('apikey'); And that's it.

  6. Hello, we are experiencing this situation with BTgoogleMaps: the first time the page is loaded (after an inactivity period of more than few hours), the map is correctly shown inside the module's front-end. However, from this moment, on succesive reloads of the page/content, the map becomes empty (I mean: blank, the module's front-end frame is active, but no information is shown inside it, where it is supposed to be the map). After a couple hours the map is shown again, but only for once... then the process repeats In the beginning I thought this was a limit on accessing maps per hour, but I've checked on google this data, and it seemed we are far enough to think on an API I got the following message at the debug section of the content viewer (google chrome GET,qsensor=true, 404 (Not Found) any suggestions? thanks for your help...
  7. Hi there, After the update to Joomla 3.2 the BT Google Maps module that we have installed stopped showing in his positions for public (unregistered) users. If you log in to the site, the Map shows in its position. We already verify the module preferences, and is access is set up to PUBLIC but is not showing in the front end. Please help.
  8. Hi I am currently getting the following message where the map should be in the "BT Google Map Module" "Sorry, we have no imagery here" This only started today and it happening on the following link. Any advice you can offer will really be appreciated. Kind regards Pierre
  9. Hi, I'm just testing your Gmaps Module, I seem to be facing an issue that seems to pop up often on the forums. It looks as though its due to some sort of JS issue. I've limited knowledge if any at all on this. when debugging I have found the following exceptions within btbase64.min.js BT.Base64 = new Class( - ReferenceError. Any ideas on what this could be? Thanks L
  10. Hello, I installed BTGoogle Maps on my website created with joomla. I wonder if there is some way of entering a search engine, in which you can enter a zip code and map shows the MARKER closest to zip code. Thank you very much!
  11. Would it be possible to edit the map module so that is will select Jomsocial events from the database and create placemarks for them instead of using placemarks that the user has defined? In tmpl\js\default.js in the initializeMap function, it should be possible to swap the var markers = JSON.decode(markersJson); with a sql query, but I don't have very much experience with Javascript so I'm not sure how to do it. I'm also not sure what attributes for each marker need to be initialized in order for the map to still function properly. Thanks for any help/
