A few problems with BT Content Slider

7 posts in this topic

Hi

Thank you for this great extension.

But I have some problems with it:

First I'm sorry for bad English!

Second, My Site URL is: http://www.8ieg.com/fa/

The problems:

1- When I click on an item in this module, it opens the full text of the clicked articles without intro text! (Actually only the text after "Read More" is shown).

2- The articles open in the Home Page of site and then, the module does not show anything. The articles that this module renders, have menu item ID's. For example the first Item has Menu Item ID = 556, but when I click on it, it opens in the home page (with Item ID = 435) and without Intro Text and also the module does not show anything.

4- The style of module is not appropriate in IE8

5- I want to show the Numbers in the center of module. I set the "Move right" parameter to -90px, The numbers are in center of module in resolution 1280x1024 but not in resolution 1024x728

6- When I set the home page of site to another category rather than "About Us", The module does not show anything.

7- And as I asked before, I have a multi lingual site with RTL (Persian and Arabic) and LTR (English and Russian) directions.

I want to load rtl css file in RTL Languages and vice versa. How can I do that?

Thanx a lot

Hi.

1. I see the module still works, I check your articles, a little of them don't have introtext.

So i am confused with this problem.

You can describe it with screen shot, what article doesn't have introtext.

2. This is Menu Item ID problem. As you said, you have menu item id for articles in module

example the first Item has Menu Item ID = 556

but i can find this menu in your menu list, can you show me?

And my advice is you need to create a or many hidden menu item for your categories that contains articles.

This problem is disscuss many time on the forum. You can search this.

4. (you don't have 3 :D )

IE 8 doesn't accept rgba background color. So you need to have other property to fallback.

You can see it in file templates/bt_arise/css/template.css line 657th

With this rule:

div.ja-moduletable, div.moduletable {
background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8);
border: 3px solid #FFFFFF;
margin-bottom: 10px;
margin-top: 10px;
padding: 2px 2px 20px;
position: relative;
}

Example

background: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0.8);

_background: #ffffff; /* IE accept property with a _ at lead. */

5. I have other solution for you.

Set Move right by 0px.

Then open file modules/mod_bt_contentslider/tmpl/css/btcontentslider.css

Find this rule

.bt-cs .bt_handles_num {
border: 0 none !important;
direction: rtl;
margin: 0 !important;
padding: 0 !important;
position: absolute !important;
text-align: center;
z-index: 101;
}

Add new property direction: rtl;

Then find this rule:

.bt-cs .bt_handles_num li {
background: none repeat scroll 0 0 rgba(0, 0, 0, 0) !important;
display: inline-block;
list-style: none outside none;
margin: 0 1px !important;
padding: 0 !important;
}

Remove: float: right; and add new : display: inline-block;

6. This is my trick.

Open file /mod_bt_contentslider/helper.php

Find these lines

if(file_exists(JPATH_BASE.'/templates/'.$template.'/html/mod_bt_contentslider/css/btcontentslider.css'))
{
$document->addStyleSheet( JURI::root().'templates/'.$template.'/html/mod_bt_contentslider/css/btcontentslider.css');
}
else{
$document->addStyleSheet(JURI::root().'modules/mod_bt_contentslider/tmpl/css/btcontentslider.css');
}

Change it to

$language = JFactory::getLanguage();
$cssName = 'btcontentslider' . ($language->isRTL() ? '-rtl' : '') . '.css';
if(file_exists(JPATH_BASE.'/templates/'.$template.'/html/mod_bt_contentslider/css/' . $cssName))
{
$document->addStyleSheet( JURI::root().'templates/'.$template.'/html/mod_bt_contentslider/css/' . $cssName);
}
else{
$document->addStyleSheet(JURI::root().'modules/mod_bt_contentslider/tmpl/css/' . $cssName);
}

And don't forget to create your btcontentslider-rtl.css :D

I hope my reply can solved your problems.

Notice me for more help.

Good luck.

Hi

Thank you sooooooooooooooooooooooo much!

I can not compensate your kindness

1 & 2- I described the problem in this picture

4- (Not 3 :D) I know that IE8 doesn't accept rgba background colors. I mean the numbers don't display proper in IE8.

5- Thank you for this solution. I'll try it.

6- What about this problem:

6- When I set the home page of site (in Persian main menu = منوی اصلی) to another category rather than "About Us = درباره ما", The module does not show anything.

7- The problem with rtl solved. thank you.

Thank you again so much.

1&2- I created a new menu: managers

and then I created 8 menu items for that 8 articles which bt content slider should render.

But the problem is still exist.

I used this module in many sites before, but this is the the first time that I have such a problem :(
